Curses on the Dead

Random question: can curses be placed on the dead? Or can people die with curses in tact? If so, how can they be removed from an Nkisi Malongo perspective?

A person can be cursed in life and pass away with that curse still on them and a person can curse someone thats already dead. Both are possible.

The removal process is something major and only priests really do these kinds of things so I wont discuss the how in public but it is complicated.
